KHI has the distinct honour of hoisting the National Flag, every last Sunday of the month!  This honour conferred on KHI by Government, distinguishes the Institution for its career and character right from its inception! Nurses’parade and tribute by all the KHI family members, are the features of Flag hoisting ceremony & every month some charitable cause or other is served, e.g., distribution of educational aid to students, donation of books to library, medical help, women-empowerment etc.

Of-course, apart from the above, 26th January and 15th August as Republic Day & Independence day respectively are also observed as National festivals with full spirit.

Sports (Indoor/Outdoor) cookery-competitions, rangoli, elocution-competitions, essay-competitions, drawing competition for children are also organized from time to time for KHI inmates & Medical / Nursing staff.

8th March International Women’s Day is marked in KHI for giving away ‘Vatsalatai Vaidya Memorial Award’ to the woman social worker from either Goa, Karnataka or Maharashtra state.  This is co-sponsored by yet another NGO ‘Arun-Mangal Seva Vikas Yojna’, Mumbai.

Akshay-Tritiya is KHI’s Annual Day (Foundation Day) which is marked by common-prayer, Sah-bhojana, & the Annual Day Function, to give every worker-member in KHI a handsome gift / momento useful in house.

7th May is observed as Seva Dal Day and marked for Children’s Holiday Camp.

Hanuman Jayanti, Ganesh Utsav, Dashera celebrations, Christmas are some of the religious ceremonies observed in KHI.

Memorial days of Dr. N.S. Hardikar, Dr. Kokatnur, Dr. M.K. Vaidya, Smt. Vatsalatai Vaidya are observed with appropriate prayers / this inspires in KHI members, dedication & devotion in their day-to-day jobs with Discipline of course.
