In the success of KHI, the trained nurses play an important role.  The KHI atmosphere vibrates with the silent dynamism & sweet smiles of expert nurses.  They are trained in our Nurses Training School.

The school was started in 1955 with the main object of giving professional education in nursing to the rural girls free of cost and to elevate them to professional level of this noble profession.  The school with 60 intake per year is recognized by Indian Nursing Council and Karnataka Nursing Council respectively by Central & State Government.  It is one of the best schools in Karnataka.

It has a nice building equipped with everything necessary for the training.  It has descent class rooms, demonstration lab, nutrition lab, library with many latest and old valuable books, separate reading room, computer room, auditorium for audio visual education, museum having latest anatomy & physiology charts & models.

Experienced lecturers, doctors & staff nurses take special efforts for the students.  Along with professional training the all round development at all the five levels – physical, mental, intellectual, emotional & spiritual – is also taken care of through various programmes like drill, games, debates, extra curricular activities, prayers.  Spirit of selfless service and nationalism is inculcated through community visits, study tours and regular monthly flag hoisting.

Students respond well and the results are cent per cent with many in first class.
The institute is an Examination Center for Nurses Theory and Practical Exams of Karnataka Nursing Examination Board.

There is a nice hostel with all necessary facilities to make their stay comfortable and purposeful.
